I really enjoyed the previous "Secret Order" games, and think this one is probably the best of the four. The story is more complex than the other games, but is also less serious and has many light moments. The characters are very likable, and I was interested from the very first scene. This game is really well produced - all the cut scenes, animations, voiceovers, music, and sound FX are top quality and nothing seemed rushed or out of place. The graphics are just spectacular.
I had no issues playing on Kindle HDX 8.9, and was able to navigate all locations and use all inventory items as intended. There are interactive hidden object searches, mini games, and hidden collectibles, which you find throughout the game. There is a fast travel map, journal with your tasks (which are also written across the screen as you go along), a hint button, and a very cute helper with an elaborate back story dating to 31 BC. Although the free part is only about 20 minutes, it is worth the $3.49 for the full game unlock.
I'm a fan of Artifex Mundi games in general, but the Secret Order series is not my favorite. The artwork is muddier than some other titles, and attempts to perform an action don't always work on the first try. But that's the criticism first. There are many aspects of this game that I DO like, which is why I gave it a four-star rating. I enjoy the little animals in the backgrounds that make a noise when you bop them, and I find the puzzles just the right level of difficulty. The airship feature in this game was particularly entertaining. The depictions of Leonardo da Vinci, Tesla, and other NPCs were funny. I was kind of offended at the depiction of the Egyptian God Anubis as a cute little sidekick, but the bonus chapter addressed that. Overall, I enjoyed myself, but find that the Grim Tales series of games from Artifex is still my favorite.
The game is very good was more than happy to pay the advertised 30 percent off. It's probably worth the $4.99 I was charged but I don't appreciate being deceived by false advertising and being made the fool.
Really, it's not a bad game, but it's overpriced. It's too short, and not very challenging. Good Things: interesting hidden object games, and fairly good mini games. Not so good: if you are one of those people who does not like to "go back and forth a lot" (even though you are really just touching the screen), then this is your game. It's locks you into areas to complete before you can go back to old places. I think that limits the challenge of solving puzzles, but some might like that. There is a bonus chapter.
I think the mixing of history and cultures was kind of silly. Games would be better if they taught about history and cultures along the way. Mixing Cortez, Egyptians, aviation, etc. wasn't even fantasy, it's just a tub load of anachronisms.
I downloaded the ap with no problem. I played through the very short free portion and saw a few scenes and played one hidden object scene. The hidden object scene was a bit over complicated and I didn't look forward to playing more (and I love hidden object scenes!). The story line is a part 2 of the previous game and it expects you to know what is going on- the intro didn't fill in the blanks. It was a big download for a few minutes of free play and it wasn't enough to sell me. I hadn't played the previous game, so I wasn't connected to the plot, and the one interactive character was kind of annoying. And this game has a "friend" companion that you command during the game- I've never been fond of those. It wasn't worth the free download.
I was hesitant at first because of the price and when I seen it on sale, and I liked the last game in this series I bought it. The art work is some parts, are totally awesome..The game is playing beautifully on my Kindle Fire 10. Where I'm at in the game now, I do not want it to end !!! This is an ADVENTURE I really like. I has the cutest little helper, comical characters that makes you giggle. The story itself is so good. You ride around in a balloon crafted ship and travel to, well you'll have to see for yourself. Villain, got one, but you know they never win.. Did I mention talking rocks, that are adorable. This game is FUN and will be one of your favorites. Can Not Wait to play it again with a child I know. The Ho's And puzzles are great combined with so very cool and doable. Best in top 5 for me..of the many games I have played. Enjoy.....
Graphics spectacular as always. Still wish tools were highlighted so they are more visible on toolbar. I really liked the interactive HOs. Puzzles were not too difficult so not frustrating. Liked this game and can't wait to try newer versions in this series.
For those of you not in the know, you have to buy the game, but only play once. I got the game on sale and so I was happy with the price in relation to the amount of play, especially since the bonus game was very good and well thought out. I liked how game 4 continued the story from games 2 and 3; game 1 isn't available for Kindle. I had no technical difficulties on my Kindle Fire HDX. All in all, I liked the game, but wished Nubi had more play in the story. The bonus was more about him! I usually replay my games every year or so and think this will be a good one to keep.
Habe die ersten drei Teile gespielt, fand diese schon wunderschön. Der 4. Teil steht dem nicht nach. Einfach nur toll und so liebevoll gestaltete. Bin begeistert.
A good long game with an interesting storyline and excellent graphics. Even the bonus chapter is better than some games on the market. In other words I loved it.
